Broken
18 years old and already I know that this world is broken. I no longer pay attention to economics, education, war, or world events, things that once interested me due to their interconnectivity and importance, however because the news on all of these things is consistently negative, I don't care about how things are anymore. I already know how they are, broken. The United States is in an enormous debt that we will never pull out of. Where we were once among the top in the world for math and science our public schools have dropped to the 20s in both math and science, the place where job growth is most expected and where future economies will be based. As for war, I can't remember a time when our country was not at war. I know that war can be positive economically and scientifically as it was during the WWII and Cold War eras, but today's wars are different, because we are no longer fighting another country, but rather a group of barely equipt barely trained gorrillas, we have to reason to advance scientifically and economically we gain next to nothing while we waste time, energy, lives, and money and justify it by saying we make the world safer while in reality we do very little for ourselves and more often than not, anger the people we are "helping". World events are by far the most depressing thing I hear about on a daily basis from the possiblity of a new war in the Middle East between Isreal and Iran to the economic chaos in Europe. The World is BROKEN
